This online demo shows Half Minute Media’s ad replacement technology running on a live TV broadcast.
Our system identifies the start and end of commercial breaks by analysing audio and video features of the incoming broadcast. With an emphasis on avoiding false positives, a definitive match can be declared in under one second. Following detection, the system physically switches output to a source hosting alternative content for the duration of the broadcast ad break. Alternate content can include video ads, static posters, formated URLs with live data, and social media feeds. In this demo we use the option to allow the inserted ad to complete playout before returning to the broadcast.
HMM systems can also use the detection of onscreen logos and graphics to trigger banners or Picture in Picture mode and they have also been integrated with other local and remote screen management systems which have been controlled with HTTP or RS232 commands.
